Jerry Prieto

Bio

Jerry Prieto- Athletic Director/Head Football Coach- Dayton ISD Coach Prieto is in his 2nd year at Dayton. Previous Athletic Director/Head Football stops include Lake Worth and Crosby. In 2020 he coached in the 5A DII State Championship game and the 5A DII State Semifinals in 2021. In 2022 coach was named as one of Dave Campbell’s Top 40 under 40 coaches, in 2021 he was the Houston Touchdown Club Coach of the year and the 12-5A DII Coach of the year, and in 2020 Coach Prieto was a Houston Touchdown Club Coach of the year finalist, Vype Houston Co-Coach of the Year and the Houston Chronicle’s All Greater Houston Coach of the Year. His previous assistant stops were at Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, Corpus Christi Ray, A&M Consolidated, Cypress Springs, and Columbus high schools. He attended Cypress Springs High school, received his undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University, and his graduate degree from Lamar University. Coach Prieto has been married to his wife and high school sweetheart Julie Prieto for 20 years and they have two sons Jerry Prieto Jr. and Mason Prieto who are both a part of the Dayton ISD Athletic Program.
